Review: Trtl Travel Pillow

The first time I travelled to America with my kids, I managed to get an hour and 45 mins sleep in the space of 24 hours. I was incoherent and just in general, not a nice person to be around.

So the next time I travelled, I saw my doctor and got some sleeping tablets. I managed to get about 3 hours of sleep but got to my destination feeling groggy and still super tired!

I am not a person who can function on limited sleep, so I searched high and low to find a solution to my travel sleeping problem and came across the Trtl Travel Pillow.  I am not going to lie; I did baulk at the price but was also pretty desperate to find a neck pillow that would see me having a decent amount of sleep in my travels.

My Trtl Travel Pillow arrived quite quickly, and I set to testing it out on my armchair for a Sunday afternoon nap (anyone who knows me knows I do love a good power nap). I was pleasantly surprised by how easy it was to put on, and how comfortable it was in supporting my head and neck, regardless of which direction I tilted my head. Instructions are available on the Trtl website, but it is as simple as the images below:

Fit the curved plastic side to the preferred side of your neck, holding out the soft side (with velcro attached)
Bring the soft side across the front of your neck and attach the velcro pieces together
Adjust the placement of the curved neck support section as needed
Sleep

I find that the Trtle Travel Pillow is also comfortable with my AirPods in my ears and, as mentioned earlier, is as comfortable leaning to either left or right, which is handy if you happen to be seated near a window, but can just as easily be used if you are seated in an aisle seat!

But I do want to stress that the Trtle Travel Pillow is not just for aeroplanes! It is perfect for travel on a train, car or even a sneaky Sunday arvo nap in an armchair.

Currently, the Trtl Travel Pillow retails for $72.99 on their website, and if you sign up, they often have deals with a certain percentage off. This does sound like, and IS, a pretty big amount of money for a travel pillow. But when I put a price on my sleep (and the price of me not being an absolute grouch to global communities), I would happily pay this again if my Trtl Travel Pillow were to go missing tomorrow.
But don’t just take my word for it; the Trtl Travel Pillow comes with a 30-day money-back guarantee, so try it out and see if you love it as much as I do!
