Today started with a quest to find a pair of shoes for me to wear with my new dress as I only had two pair of joggers and a pair of thongs/flip flops for the yanks.
We stumbled upon a Marshals. We had no idea what it was but we are now on the hunt for them all across the country. It is like a department store that has last season/liquidation stock and it is cheap. Real cheap. I picked up a pair of Steve Madden nude pumps for US$35 instead of the US$99.99 they usually retail for and a pair of Sketchers for US$35 that at home I would have to pay about AU$120 for. Heaps of other bargains that I will not bore you with but needless to say some awesome bargains to be had and we will be returning to Marshals as we trek across the country.
With my fabulous new shoes came the need to get to our next location without having to walk too much. We were given an Uber code to get a free ride so we decided to try it out to see what all of the fuss is about with Uber. We were surprised by how easy it was to use and how lovely Michelle, our Uber driver was. We ended up across town at the House of Blues for a bite of
lunch and our meet and greet with Jim Ross. He did a signing session before his show and it was so great to meet the man whose voice we have listened to on countless podcasts.
We had a chat and pictures taken and ended up on his official facebook page, but that was no the highlight of it all. His stage show started, he was doing his intro and he asked where the couple on their honeymoon from Australia were. We waved and he continued on to tell Pete how lucky he is to have such an awesome wife –Nothing that we did not already know though, right?
JR introduced two guests, Karen and Jeff Jarratt, and thethree sat there telling stories and shooting the breeze for a few hours. I had no idea who Karen and Jeff were at the time but still knew who they were talking about and the show was an absolute hoot. We loved it!
After this, we hit the American Airlines Arena for the WWE Hall of Fame. Here we saw the likes of The Godfather, The Big Boss Man, Jaqueline, Stan Hansen, The Fabulous Freebirds and Snoop Dogg inducted. This was a very cool event to have attended, being able to hear so many stories about each of the inductees and it also saw the return of John Cena. He inducted Snoop Dogg into the HOF. For me, this was pretty exciting. I love John Cena.
The trip to DC is probably best summed up by Pete. “Washington can go f**k itself.” For starters, we should have known it was going to be a tad dodgy when we had our car…
Time to bid farewell to Sin City, which was probably a good thing. Given how increasingly busy we saw the city get from Wednesday to Friday night, I can only imagine how Vegas goes off…
Today Pete woke up, like a child at Christmas. He had waited his whole life for this day. Before we could get on the bus to hit WrestleMania, we had an important date with AXXESS….
Texas Sunrise Later that morning we jumped in the car and hit to road to Lafayette. The drive here saw us cross the Texas/Louisiana state line. We noticed an immediate change in the quality of…
This morning we hit the canals for our swamp and alligator tour. Pete was kinda disappointed by the lack of toothless swamp people and beards, but the tour was amazing. Junior is a second generation…
